Toohey Forest Orienteers is the Orienteering club for Brisbane southside and the southern bayside areas.  We have provided a social and competitive environment for club members since 1979.  Our membership ranges in age from youngsters, accompanied by parents, to those in their 70s. Our name comes from Toohey Forest Reserve a large area of bushland that extends from Toohey Mountain in Tarragindi to Mt. Gravatt, and includes Nathan and Mt Gravatt campuses of Griffith University.

Our logo and badge features the ‘running grasstree’ based on an original idea by foundation club member John Bourne. Grasstrees (Xanthorrhoea johnsonii) are abundant in the sandstone areas of Toohey Forest. All our members receive a badge when they join the club. Family memberships receive two badges.  Additional badges may be purchased from our membership officer.

Orienteering on the southside has a diverse range of terrain on offer.  This gives us the opportunity to hold various event types based on the location and map details.

Please feel free to Contact us for more information about the club and our sport.
