Welcome to the Enoggeroos Orienteering Club Web Site

Who are we?

Enoggeroos Orienteering club has been active in the Brisbane region for over 35 years.  Originally formed with a nucleus of members from the Enoggera area, it has expanded to take in most of the areas north of the Brisbane River up to Caboolture, and out to Redcliffe.  However the majority of our membership still comes from north-western areas of Brisbane.

Although varying slightly from year to year, our membership numbers remain at approximately 75 to 80.  These consist of individual and family membership, with ages ranging from 5 to 85 years young.  Enoggeroos prides itself on being a friendly club which welcomes beginners and family groups.  Its focus is on ensuring its members and especially newcomers have a great time at Orienteering.

What is  orienteering?

Orienteering often called the “Thought Sport” or “Cunning Running” is a sport for all ages, with courses available for the under 10's to the over 80's, so people of all abilities are able to participate. You get a map with your course drawn on it. A course is made up of a number of controls (flags) numbered from one to about thirteen. With your map to guide you, you have to find each control in numerical order. To find out more detail go here. www.oq.asn.au/about-orienteering

For some, orienteering is a competitive sport. For many, it’s a fun recreational activity that friends or the whole family can enjoy together. You decide just how serious you want to be.

Events

Events are held most Sundays during the cooler months throughout the South-East areas surrounding Brisbane in both bushland and parks.  Evening events are also popular and are generally run throughout suburban streets. www.oq.asn.au/event-calendar
