Welcome to Orienteering Queensland
Orienteering is a great family sport, catering for young children right through to grandparents, for the super fast and not so fast, for the competitive and not so competitive.
Those new to the sport are most welcome to participate in any of the events listed on the events calendar and we provide information on the basic map reading and navigational skills at all events.
Orienteering in Queensland can be done on foot (Foot Orienteering) or on Mountain Bike (Mountain biking orienteering)
For more information, look at About Orienteering, particularly Getting Started.

for OY5 Event at The Camel Farm - Wivenhoe - this Sunday 26 May.
The Start List is based on entry deadline - Wed 22 May.
In order to increase opportunities for real competition experience, allocated start times will be a feature of the Q-League format.
Start intervals will be three minutes in Long distance, two minutes in Middle and one minute in Sprint Distance. Start order will be in reverse of current Q League 2.0 rankings, designed to simulate the starting in finals at World Championships.
It is ESSENTIAL all Q League competitors start at their allocated times to qualify for Q-League points.
Chris Firman (EN) and Karl Withers (MT) have been named in the Australian teams selected to contest this year's World Mountain Bike Orienteering Championships
in Estonia in August.
After being a three time representative at the junior level, Chris has made it into his first senior team, joining three other men to represent Australia.
Chris was placed 1st in the elite men's Sprint race at the selection trials held in Victoria on 27 and 28 April, came 4th in the Middle Distance race and was 3rd in the Long Distance race, despite still recovering from a broken collar bone injury.
Karl made his first junior team last year and joins two other riders to represent Australia again this year after recording a 5th in the Sprint, a 2nd in the Middle Distance race and a 3rd in the Long Distance race at the selection trials.
Both riders have been competing regularly in mountain bike as well as MTBO races and their commitment to improving their fitness as well as their technical skills has now been rewarded. Orienteering Queensland congratulates them both on their selection and wishes them all the best for their training and competition for the coming months.
From now on, Start Lists for Q League events will be linked to from their event page.
